[2008-06-24] Back in the Saddle Again

Just wanted everyone to know that I've returned from my canoe trip. It was fun, and most importantly, relaxing.

Hello Password Corral users. I'm leaving the evening of 6/17 for a lengthy canoe trip. I'll be returning on 6/25. Unfortunately that means I'll be unavailable for e-mail support during that time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

On the Password Corral 5.0 front, there is unfortunately little news. For the better part of the past year I've been flying out of my home town nearly every week on business, and I haven't had any time to work on the next major release. While I'm back home again, more travel is appearing on the horizon, much to my dismay. I'll keep you all apprised of any significant development I make on 5.0. My apologies for it taking so incredibly long.

[2007-03-12] Password Corral v4.0.3 Maintenance Release Now Available!

Ghads! Has it been nearly a year? Sorry for the lack of updates. This maintenance release fixes a rather bad bug when using the import option to replace your existing password list with the data in the import file. Essentially, Password Corral would reject the master password that was used to create the file you were importing, which was not right, but accept as correct the master password of the account you were currently logged in as, which was also not correct. The result was a completely corrupt import unless the master password used to create the import file was the same as the master password of the account you were currently logged in under. Not good. I recommend all users download this new build. Note that this bug only affected the "Replace existing password list" import option.

So where's version 5.0, you're probably wondering? About the same place it was when we last talked nearly a year ago. I hate to admit that, but I'd rather be honest with you, the users of Password Corral who have supported the program for nearly 10 years. Free time has been short, but I've by no means given up. I'm hoping to make some strides on 5.0 this year. Keep watching the website for more info. Thanks for your patience.

[2006-04-06] Still Alive and Kicking; Plus, a Password Corral 5.0 tidbit!

Hello Password Corral users! Sorry for the lack of updates over the past several months. I've been very busy for a while, but Password Corral is always cooking in the pot, if not on the back burner from time to time. The next major release, v5.0, is on the drawing board. The program will finally make the switch to a real SQL based relational database for password storage, and should allow for multiple users to access a single database. Can't comment on a release date or even a beta, but know that it's in the works.
